A Senior Talent Consultant at Building For Mission, Natalie Thomas brings a deep commitment to building organizations that have the capacity to sustain change. Natalie has fifteen years of global experience as a leadership coach, strategy consultant, adult educator, facilitator, and nonprofit executive.

Prior to Building for Mission, Natalie was a nonprofit executive at Episcopal City Mission, the Leadership Development Initiative, and Tatua Kenya. Natalie was one of the co-founders of Tatua Kenya, a Nariobi-based organization for social justice. In each of these roles, Natalie melded her years of community organizing experience with a keen eye for sustainable structures to build responsive nonprofits that could bring about lasting impact. In her role as an executive she provided capacity building trainings on time management and self-care.

Additionally Natalie has extensive experience as a trainer and facilitator. She served as a Teaching Fellow with the network’s founder, Marshall Ganz, at the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Executive Education School. She co-taught Public Narrative: Leadership, Storytelling, and Action and Leadership Organizing and Action: Leading Change. She had the opportunity to adapt Ganz’s content for particular causes such as women’s leadership with Planned Parenthood Global Program, suicide prevention in Indigenous teens with Ko Awatea, and education justice with numerous teaching associations.

Natalie lives in Sandwich, Massachusetts with her husband James Thomas and their two young children.
